Yesterday was International Day of the Girl, a reminder that we must keep fighting for gender equality to ensure that girls everywhere are protected, educated and given the same opportunities as boys. It's also important to look at the core of many of the social injustices that exist globally and realize poverty is the culprit.
That's why we are tackling poverty first by investing in women first. Children hold the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, but their parents must be able to provide them with basic things like education, healthcare and nutritious food. Right now Vestine, our field officer is assisting our women with financial planning so that they can properly allocate the income they generate from the cooperative for those vital necessities for their children and for savings.
We are uprooting poverty and planting the seeds for a future where every child has the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality.
